A Team-Based Approach to Better Health

Dr. Muthavarapu attended medical school at Gandhi Medical College (Hyderabad, A.P., India) and did internships at Spanish Town Hospital and Kingston Public Hospital (both in Kingston, Jamaica).

He completed a residency and fellowship at the New York Hospital Medical Center of Queens (Flushing, NY), and is certified by the American Board of Surgery.

Dr. Joshi is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery. He is a highly experienced bariatric and general surgeon whose professional interests include weight loss surgery, revisional bariatric surgery, foregut surgery, and weight regain management.

Dr. Joshi received his medical degree from Nepal Medical College/Kathmandu University in Nepal. He completed a General Surgery residency at Saint Mary’s Hospital, a Yale University Affiliate Hospital, in Waterbury, CT, and fellowship training in Bariatric /Minimally Invasive Surgery at Cleveland Clinic Weston Hospital in Florida.

Amanda attended Schenectady County Community College and eventually transferred to Russell Sage College in Troy, NY where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition. Upon graduating, went on to her internship at Albany Stratton VA Medical Center. She is currently licensed in New York State as a Certified Dietitian Nutritionist and works with patients to support their weight loss goals through nutritional counseling, medication management and weight loss surgery.

Nickisha grew up in a Caribbean household where health and wellness was not a priority. Because of that she took the time to better understand the role that Nutrition plays in our well-being and everyday life. Now a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, Nickisha is completing her bachelor’s degree and 10-month dietetic internship from Russell Sage college and currently finishing her master’s degree at the same institution. When not at work Nickisha enjoys going to the gym and experimenting with different cuisines in the kitchen.

Sarah earned her Masters in Social Work from Adelphi University in Garden City, NY. Following completion of her graduate program she worked in various mental health settings treating those struggling with anxiety, depression, body dysmorphia, eating disorders, and grief. For a brief time she stepped out of direct care into the Managed Care Sector, providing support and advocacy for people who required care related to their medical needs and mental health. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of New York, Sarah has been happy to re-enter direct care to provide ongoing mental health support to patients seeking to change their lives by improving their overall health.
